I'm thinking of picking up and Indian Creek and if it shoots any better or just as good I'll probably give it to him....

I shoot the 835 with the 24" ported barrel. Withthe addition of aported choke (Star Dot .676 in my case) and a good aftermarketrecoil pad (Sims Limbsaver) it is a kitty-cat to shoot. Prior to getting the ported choke and the Sims pad that gun would absolutely stomp you.

I have a friend that shoots the Indian Creek BDS .660 with the Hevi 13 #6's (I think) out of a Browning Gold and it shoots dang near as good as my Jelly Head.660 and Nitro 4x5x7's. I think you'll really like those IC chokes.

Simp are you shooting a .660 with an 835 and hevi-shot Nitros?

Swamp Collie, do you know anything on the mossberg 535 ATS shotguns. They look the same except not overbored or ported. The turkey ones only wiegh 6.75 too. I am think that with a magnum turkey load it will rock you pretty good. Which would you get?

The 835.
The fact that it is overbored is THE only reason to get the gun. Yeah, they are fairly light and handy, but the beauty of of the 835 line is the overboring, and thats why they throw such nasty patterns. When you go to the 535 you lose that feature. They will both shake you up a bit. You don't have to put a pile of coin into a recoil pad.. I put a Limbsaver on mine and I don't think it cost me over $40 to do so... definately took the bite out... but the gun is still going to move you. Again, a lot of it depends on the shells you are shooting... those 1 3/4oz Hevi-13s are really quite soft shooting for turkey loads. My 835 isn't ported either... just the choke tube, and only then enough to strip the wadding.
