Sorry got here late - hoep not too late - I would use a blind big time......makes for a more comfrotable sit......put it up in areas you see good sign - I would even use decoys......and then all the rest of the tips the other have given you and I would bring extra calls....and put these calls in the youths hands...and teach him how to call when things get slow!

Mother nature was angry, very angry. It actually snowed on us this morning. It hasn't snowed here in years. The wind was terrible. Then another hunter showed up and was a real boody hole. Brandon had fun. I talked to a private landowner about our struggle and he has aggreed to let him hunt his place after he gets a bird. That will be my next project. Thanks for the encouragement guys. No bird, but fun was had by all.
I did take Brandon with me to check my camera. His eyes bugged out when he saw this picture in my gps viewer. This is the land I'll take him to later. At least he ought to be able to get a jake here!

Adderall. Been taking it everyday for the last 9 years. It is a HUGE appetite suppressant.... but I'll say this... no turkey naps on that stuff.
Its gotta be the greatest thing ever for duck hunting.... you can stay up until 1am, get up at 3am, take your daily meds... drive an hour, run the boat, hunt all day... don't need to pack any food.... and drive home safely.
Just gotta be careful with that stuff..... its a prescription medication... and there has been more than one person to go out like a rockstar (litterally in the case of Bonn Scott (ACDC) and Hank Williams, Sr.).
