Several factors make my decision:
1.) the land...how big of an area do I have to work with?
2.) history...what has this bird done last year...what has the area produced over the last few years....it just seems that in some areas the birds will do the same thing that the boss did last year.
3.) time...when do I have to be back at the office?
4.) How late in the season is it? Have the birds been called to a lot?
5.) Is there anyone else nearby that might be hunting, too?

I'm sure there's more that I consider in the moment, but right now those are the biggies.

Both, will sit for flydown andwhile after. Then I start to run and gun....the birds control what I do.

I prefer to sit and wait, but if the situation dictates otherwise, I'm runnin'!

Run and gun always, I hunt big, public land most of the time, if you sit around someone else will get your bird. I'm a turkey chaser.
