Default Buying a 20g for Son

Well Im taking the boy on his first turkey hunt this spring. I will probley limit him to 30 yard or less shots. Should I go full choke or tighter in his gun? Also how effective are lead #6 out of a 20 guage?

Thatshould do the trick, thats what i started my son with, he had no problems with it. and it was a 20 ga 870 youth model. and i believe we had the undertaker choke.

My daughters first turkey shot with Mossberg 500 20 gauge, Undertaker choke tube, 3" mag #5 at a little over 30 yards.

Knocked it dead.

I agree with OKbowhunter, my first gun was a remington 870 youth with a factory full choke. I used winchester supreme 3 inch mags with 6s and i took birds quite cleanly out to 30 yards, although i prob wouldn't push it much farther then that. With todays chokes and loads that might be a different story but the patterning board is the only way to find that out.
