Just bought an H.S. Strut gun-mountable push button yelper. Being able to call with my gun in the ready position is why i wanted this call. We'll have to see how well it works this spring. Did melt the end of the lanyard so it wouldn't unravel. What do you all think about them.

If your not that proficient with a mouth call, a gun mountable push button yelper is the next best thing when hunting alone and the birds are in view. It's tough to take the time to use a friction call like a box, slate, glass etc and still pick up your gun. This is when mouth calls are priceless. There are times when the only thing a gobbler might answer to is a push button rather than a mouth, or other friction call. River Valley Game Calls makes a gun mountable push button yelper that works very well. It is very secure to the barrel so it won't move or spin around the barrel like the ones using the velco method.

I used to use one but i switched to a lohman
mouth yelper. You just puff into it like a
crow or owl call. I like it because you can
do an awesome whine-yelp and i have had much
better response with this than the gun mounted
devices.

Only problem I have with the call is that everytime I buy one, I get caught in the rain with it still on my gun.
My fault not the calls.

A long, long time ago in a place far away (well, not that far) I took my first two adult gobblers in my first year of hunting using nothing but a Lohman push button call. Talk about beginners luck! And I've been hopelessly hooked on turkey hunting ever since. That push button call served me well for a few years and I still pull it out once in a while when the going gets tough. They will definitely call in a turkey, regardless of how simple they are. Don't be afraid to go to the woods with one of these calls, they are a perfect call for a beginner to learn with or a good addition to a veteran caller's arsenal.

Just watch that your string does not get hung up on branches when headed into the bush!!!!!! Brampton Mike <img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>
