This will be my first year ever Turkey hunting, anybody have any newbie pointers for me. I am going to go out and buy some Turkey tapes to watch to kind of help me but any help any of you can give would be appreciated.

I also have 0 calls and going to buy some any advice on 2 or 3 that I should start off with.

There are so many suggestions it's hard to start.
But if I had to give one... try to go with an experinced hunter
right off the bat. A good one can give you hands on help
that a tape can't.
And that hunter has been in the same boat you're in at one time
and he (or she) knows what it's like to get started.
For what it's worth... GOOD LUCK.
Calls and other gear needed for Turkey hunting becomes personal preference after that.

Homer's advice on going with someone experienced is right on. There is nothing more valuable than going out with someone who can point things out to you in the field. Some of the easier calls to use are the friction calls (either push pins, boxes or slates). All of them can be learned with a little practice. Go to your local dealer and they should be willing to let you try out some of the calls to see what you are most comfortable with. If you are going to get some tapes, get one of the beginner tapes like the HS Strut "So You Want To Be a Turkey Hunter." They will tell you a lot about what you will need to get started. Good Luck!
