Default Locate early?

Just wondering how many of you all try using a locator call early before flydown instead of later in the morning or day?I'm one for gettin to the turkey woods very early and unless I know where an exact roost site is or have previously roosted the birds the night before often times will use a locator call well before flydown to use the cover of darkness to get into position on a roosted gobbler!Obviously you can get carried away with it but just one or too calls can get early morning responses that can get you headed in the right direction so that when he does begin to gobble on his own your in a much better situation to where you may not have to move far to get into a good set-up!Alot of turkey hunters head to the woods and just wait to hear those first early morning gobbles and thats fine but what happens in alot of cases by the time were where we want to be gobblers already left the roost or we end up setting up to far away because of the lightening of the day and afraid of being seen and bumping the bird off the roost!Using a locator early is just one way that has enabled myself to stay one step ahead of ole gobbler instead of playing catch-up all morning! Now tell me one of your secrets!!!<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Havent had much luck locating gobblers that way. I think it has to do with all the hunters going out a month before the season starts and hammering away with the owl and crow calls....
