Default Dog Whistles to locate??

I have heard that a dog whistle is a good way to make turkeys shock gobble. I have not tried it, just wondering if anyone can support or deny this.
Thanks

Hmm...not sure if they work or not.

There was a "whistle" on the market 4-5 years ago. I believe it was from M.A.D. calls. Along the same lines that the high pitch whistle would get them to gobble. I bought into it - blew and blew and blew - never heard a sound.

MAD did market such a call. I didn't buy it, I prefer to use locator calls (e.g. a very high pitched crow call) that will alert other hunters to my presence.

I tried it last year with no luck. Your better off with an owl call.

I may be in minority here but I use a dog whistle. It is an old brass adjustable screw in type that has produced results for me when roosting.

The strange thing it is a late season locator call for me.

Early season on Easterns I have had very little success but late season towards the last two weeks it has worked for me when other calls do not.
