Why is there a daily limit on killing Turkeys? Here in TN, you can kill 4 bearded turkeys in one season, but not to exceed 1 per day! What's thelogic behind that?

I have no ID either. Apparently there doesn't have to be any logic to make game laws because there are a lot of them that I don't understand.

But it sounds like we've got it pretty good though even if we can't kill more than 1 per day.

One per day...Are you serious? You should be thankful. In MO if we get one the first week we have to wait til the second week to go after another.

thats crazy, i guess i have no room to complain then, ill keep my two birds one per day and shut up. lol

that really stinks they make you wait an entire week before trying again. i cant see any logic in this, but the people that make these rules no more than i do so o well.

4 turkeys...be thankful you have so many down there. Here in MN and in WI, we get a 5 day season and can kill one bird. Wisconsin does give out some 2nd leftover tags. I'd love to be able to hunt for a month straight as the season goes way too fast. I make up for it by hunting with the camera for quite a few days!!

Here in NY, we can take 2 birds during the spring season, but they can't be taken on the very same day either. I like this approach, because it allows you to hunt another day. Who really wants it all to end in one morning after waiting all winter for the spring season to finally get here???

i think a big part of it is to keep guys from taking bad shots. ive heard stories of guys trying to take 2-3 birds with 1 shot. or guys just open up after he drops the first one spraying lead all over...

or maybe to limit guys from taking too many birds from the same flock.

i remember i was young..dad and i met a guy from virgina or west virgina or somewhere..we were having lunch after hunting and were talking turkey hunting. he told us hes gotten 2 with 1 shot plenty of times...this year his goal was to drop 3 with one shot. he said somethin like "its hard to get them buggers lined up right!"
