I am off to Altoona, Kansas in the morning!!! I will be hunting with my buddy Rob. We will be trying to take a couple gobblers on film with our bows. Let you know how we make out when we return.

No luck either day, I went with a buddy to Hickorytop WMA about 20 miles from my house. We set up & all was going well with a couple of birds but some hunters were running & gunning and got between us and them. They didn't get them either. This morning I took my son to the bombing range and did'nt even hear anything off the roost. One bird was killed, a nice 3 year old with 2 beards. It was cool because I'd never seen a multiple beard bird.

Well hello fellow TEam 5 members!
I bombed in Georgia but smacked a good bird this morning in TN
22 lbs even
Beard 11 3/8
Spurs rite - 1 1/32
Spur left 1 /38
Beard 11 3/8
Your score is 22 + 10.312 + 13.75 + 22.75 = 68.812
Ya hoo

and I'll be vback out tomorrow - called in another bird for a 13 year old hunter and the birds are plumb gobbling like mad.

Hope it keeps up and it feels good as I said - I hunted with dog1 in Gerogia (Team #9 boo!) and I got my butt whooped by those palmetto river bottom birds! Poo!

But mebbe next year from what I learned this year - I may git asked back! wink wink!

Well guys just wanted to check in....

Moms surgery went great. She is already sitting in a chair and was out of the SICU before 10am today.....thats awesome!!!

Went and shot the bow today during a lunch break today and its ready to go, just gotta get some broadheads on it and try it out. Shot some video archery the other day too and did all turkey scenarios for an hour. All went well and learned about where to aim on differnet situations.

1 week from tomm. and i will be in the camper and roostin birds!

Hope all is well and the season are full of gobbles

Jw!,

Congrats on the bird! Way to go!

Pines,

Thats fantastic news! I'm glad to hear your mom is doing so well!

Looks like I'm going to miss opening day, guys. I start my new job tomorrow and I'll be working weekends. I'll get to hunt both the 3rd and 4th days of the season though, so it'll be alright.
