Those are nice public land birds they will help out the team a lot. Also congrats to dog1 on his turkey.

I scored on opening day!

My first bird, it was a jake, and it weighed 13.5 lbs, 2 inch beard, 1/4 inch left and right spurs, and scored 22.3125.

I'm really happy about it, I shot the jake at 33 yards with a shotgun, using Winchester Super X 3" magnum #6 shot.

I don't think I have much input into this, since I will keep my own avatar, but if you can tell, it's an archery one, and the hunter is in the bushes tothe left, and the bird has an arrow going through it.

I think it looks good, but I'm not sure if anyone would be opposed to an archery pic for the team.

Actually, I measured the beard after my uncle had plucked it out for me to keep, and the feathers hid half of the beard, so the beard was 4 inches, the final score on the calculator is 26.3125.

Congrats, younggun. I'm itching to get started. I planted 3 acres in a food plot my neighbor did for me, yesterday (he cleared and turned the land, last week).

I've got a few birds around.......and I'm waiting on 4/14.
