ORIGINAL: turkey harvester

Yep thats all i do when i get home. I have 7 turkeys at my place 2 gobblers and 5 hens. I get to hear gobbling everyday. No better way to practice than with an audienceof birds.
If you're planning on hunting those 2 gobblers you might want to reconsider practicing with them. If they get used to coming to your calls and not finding any hens, they just might quit coming.

hey guys. i have a question and a need some opinions. this is my 2nd year turkey hunting and I am OK with calls. not so much mouth calls, just the box calls and frictions. I have a slightly hard time getting down the cadacenses. I know practice is the best way to improve, and I will, but if i just want to hunt a bird and know that im using the calls right, for my best chances to get that bird, can i use a eletronic turkey caller? it just has the "yelp, cluck, gobble, etc" buttons and you simply press them to give a call. has anyone had any success with these? I want to be sure that i dont scare a bird when calling, so i will try my calling skillson some birds but if i want to defintely make a good call, can i use the electronic caller? thanks alot guys

I like to keep sharp by practicing on the drive to work. I have tapes of real turkeys I like to use. Sometimes I just listen. geterdun, I would only use electronic devices for practicing my calls. Part of the fun is communicating with the birds for me anyhow. Also some states do not allow electronic devices.Coonhuntingal, whats up in West By God Virginia.I used to coon hunt with Walkers

Electronic calls are illegal here. Driving the wife nuts and looking like an idiot on the way to work is the only way to go

In the car for me. I have 8 weeks to go for my opener.

Is it not wise to get a tom to respond and keep him fired up? This is my second year and I think I got real luck last year.
