drew a box call for a college art assignment
the assignment was "us vs. them." i drew some shotgun shells to go with it. i thought it was pretty clever, but anyway, the teacher thought it was something called a "dug out" at first and was poised to chap my balls about drug paraphanaelia but luckily there was another hunter and a good ol' down home girl in the class to back me up.
i thought it was kinda funny but it leaves me wondering what this "dug out" is. he never said...

yeah, he admittedly used to be a bit of a menace to society and does sometimes hint at drug use. he was also a grafitti artist and such when he was younger. i did find out what a dugout is, though. it's a wooden box that acutally does somewhat resemble a box call except it's shaped a bit more like a thick wooden checkbook and when you open it up there is a compartment for a pipe and a larger compartment for marijuana.
the drawing...geez...it's not very well crafted at all. i might redraw it and post it for you guys because I'll need it for my portfolio anyway. it was hastily done about 2 am the day it was due because i couldn't come up with anything else and i had to have something, anything, to turn in and a box call was on my desk haha. we had to do 3 drawings and the only real good idea i had was a ww2 era american fighter flying into the center of a japanese rising sun flag, which i drew with sharpies and everyone loved (but ironically i used a jap zero to model the plane, only one i could find with an angle i liked hehe).
here's a bad scan of that one (parts of it got cut off, it was 11x14, much too big for the scanner bed):
the fills on the red aren't that great due to it being on regular ol' sketch paper. you can't go over the same spot too many times without tearing the paper. at least i can't anyway hehe
