I was at Gander Mountain getting an estimate on revamping my compound bow for turkey season, when the bow tech said he would recommend using a device to impede arrow penetration. It was a 3-pronged piece that fit in-behind the broadhead that acted as a brake.
Anyone here use anything such as this? Is having an arrow pass through a turkey really a bad thing?

I tried the star shaped deal that fits behind the broahead, and it affected my arrow flight so bad i had to take em off! personally I don't think the arrow passin through the turkey will keep you from recovering your turkey. he may go a little farther, but I've seen em go a good piece even with the arrow still in.
you might try filing the back edge of one of your broadheads to where it's dull. they say this prevents a passthrough. never tried it myself.

We are going into our 7th spring bowhunting Turkeys. We use no stoppers-We shoot 3 blade Rocky Mountain broadheads-70# compounds & string tracker. Your bowshots are usually so close you wll have no problems with the tracker. Sometimes they take off & other times they don't. Son shot last one at 10 yards & he went 0. String really helps if they do take off. Turkeys are hard enough to penetrate so don't worry about pass thru.

I have had great luck with a good old 3 blade muzzy. I like to shoot them back through the midsection & through the hip joints.....they flop a little but most of the time they don't get too far away.
mechanicals should work nice too, look for big cutting diameter models.
