Mouth calls for aliens
I just bgt. a 4-pack of Grand Slam calls from MAD {Lohman}. One mouth call each for the 4 main species..Eastern, Rio, etc. Are their really that much a difference in vocalizations between the species that warrant a different sounding call for each, and would I be really able to notice the subtle differences? Would the turkeys know a difference based on an individuals different style of calling and tone? Are the birds that smart? Can I just use any call in the pack, or only use the Eastern?

Those Drury brothers really know how to market things!
I have hunted rios, merriams and easterns using the same call I have been using for years. The only thing that may change in tone is the gobbles of the merriams. They seem to be a little loose sounding compared to an eastern.
I assume that the calls in the pack will give you different sounds and that is a good thing. It is always good to have the option of changing your sound when that bird hangs up or nothing is responding to one call.
