I have a tom who is roosting in the same area as the hens. i have tried getting in close but they busted me , ithen got 100 yards or so away but he stayed with the hens once he hit the ground. so what should i do to get this gobbbler away from the hens. i was thinking of trying to sneak up to 50 or so yards and just do soft tree yelps then a fly down cackle, but what else could i do. would this be a good time to use one of those gobble calls. thanks for any help[/align]

Buckfever1613,
Me personally, I would try to run in there screaming and hollering to break them up. Wait 20-30 min.. He will be looking HARD to find those hens again, that's where your calling will come in handy. I may be wrong and criticized for this post, but that's what I would do and have done successfully.
