Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

drhntr178,
Great job! I spoke with some friends and heard that it's been a really nice week for hunting. It got a little windy and chilly the past couple days, but overall, great turkey weather. How long were you down there? Are you originally from Missouri? Well, glad you got on some birds and killed them in the process. Take care and post pics when you get a chance.

drhntr178,
did you kill those birds south of waycross? If so, was it an outfitter you hunted with?

deeq,

I am from MO but I have a relative who lives in Folkston. The first bird was killed on his private land. The second bird was killed on a private hunting club on the St. Marys river near the florida border. I also hunted one day on the Tilly Hawk Hunting Club, near Sirincy (spelling?). The weather was great the four days i hunted. Both birds were a little light on the foot compared to your Ga bird and what i'm used to in MO.

drhntr178,
My little sister goes to school at Valdosta State University, in Valdosta and when I was down there visiting the birds were gobbling great. Were you near the Okefenokee Swamp? Well, great job with the hunt and hope you have a great season in Missouri.

Has anyone from team 3 been hunting, or will be this upcoming weekend? My home season doesn't come in until the 24 of April, but next weekend I'm going to KY to hunt their opening weekend. I'm going to be near warfield, ky, so if anyone is around shoot me a reply and I'll bring my video camera. I'm currently uploading my hunting footage from my opening weekend hunt in Georgia, so hopefully I'll be able to attach a link to the video sometime tonight. Good luck to all and let me know everybody's plans. GOD bless!

Ill be hunting in SD (black hills) come saturday morning. Ill probably be up there for 5-6 days hunting and filming.

deeq, in reply to your earlier question. Yes i killed the first bird in folkston right by the okefenokee swamp. Talk about tough hunting; snakes, mosquitos, allligators, and thick brush and water everywhere. I dont know how a turkey survives there, much less finds any food.
