There are far more important rewards in life than $$. I doubt any of us will look back and say "gee, I kinda wished i would have worked more". I also think there are many, if not all, who say "man, I kind wish I could hunt more".
I am blessed with flexibility being self employed. My commission cheques can get pretty small come April and May however. Still have to keep on top of things so when I'm hunting my 20 plus days of turkey my cell phone with vibrate and voice mail is my best friend
I've heard of time of for family sickness or eldercare but for a REUNION! Man, sounds like you have a pretty felxibile job as well. Family reunion and turkey hunting? You'd think both would be considered non-essentail in an employers mind. Maybe you could of got away with actualyy telling the truth?????
