Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Anyone doing any fall hunting

This is my first year to hunt turkeys in the fall and I planned on just sitting and ambushing them.Saturday was opening day here in Ohio and I went to a real hot spot but didnt hear or see anything so I went back to the same spot sunday evening and at 6:00pm saw 26 or 27 hens,WOW is it hard not to get busted with that many eyes watching you but I was able to take a 10lb jenny at 20yds.I'm very happy with her and should be good eating, now its back after a Big Buck.Good luck to everyone.Dave

Congratulations! Sounds like you knew where go and had done your homework. What part of the state were you in?

congrats on the jenny......i couldn't take any the first 2 weekends i hunted, not legal, but i called in a gobbler with my mouth , no call and they were everywhere, the one time they sat and cleaned themselves for about 20 minutes , 5 of them all within 15 yards...20 at the most, i was starting to wish they would go away because i didn't want to get busted when that deer came walking into range ... then at the other place i missed one at 23-24 yards...but i was just happy it was a clean miss and that i had gotten to release my arrow, let's just say if it could go wrong it went wrong when it came to my bow mishaps...all that is left is my arrow falling off the rest i let a jenny walk, she came in at 9 yards, but she looked like she was a small chicken in a turkey suitnot even 10 lbs there ....she was so cute..well it could of been a male , it's the only one that i have seen that small this late, she made me feel good about the miss, over all my bow season was one of unfilled tags, but one of many things learned, glad i did it..congrats on the harvest again , you did great .....
