that would make a SWEET neclace charm.....i am book marking this...if i ever shoot a bird with big ole hooks id love to have that done....id actually WEAR that neclace.......ive seen them metal coated before.....but usually brass.......my first shoes are now BRASS...never know why mothers have their babys shoes dipped in brass lol.....but thats a good idea...never saw it done quite like that.......50 bucks in real silver isnt bad at all............

I did something like that with a bird that i had shot. accept i pulled the shell of the spur off and filled it with superglue. then i stuck a small strip of leather inside the glue. did the same thing thing at the other end and i had a nice necklace. it looked good but not nearly as good as yours.
