Default New Hampshire turkeys

Just got back from Laconia NH (bike week)and man did I see a lot of turkeys there.... The only thing that struck me as odd was that they were in peoples yards. Everywere I seen them there was a house within a 100 yards... I guess they just dont get hunted hard there... But anyhow that state has some awsome views!!!!

MrLongbeard.....even though we don't always see eye to eye on topics that pop up on this forum, we both still share the love for the outdoors. If you're ever up this way again, email meand we'll hit the lake salmon fishing or the river forsome stripers. I've got theboat and all the tackle you wouldneed. I would extend the offer to turkey hunting as well but I'm usuallytravelling other states chasing them down myself. I was actually out there three time during bike week and even crusied over to the Weirs (on the water) to show my Father all the bikes. To cold this year to see any flasher

What area of the state did you see the turkeys in or did you travel through to get up to the Weirs? If you came across Rt.202 / 9, towards the end of those route you were in my neck of the woods. I hunt Hillsboro, Henniker and Hopkinton area and you do see the turkeys close to homes. Thing is you step out of your house or stop to look at them they end up leaving real fast The turkey around here with in the last three years are startingto geta lot of hunting presure. When I first moved up here 7 years ago there were not many hunterout there chasing them and now my hunting areas are getting hit hard. It so bad now that next Spring I need to remove my truck decals so that "wantabe"don't follow me to my hunting spotslike they did this year [:@]Vanity plate? GONE! NWTF sticker? GONE!Hoyt sticker? GONE! strutting turkey decal? GONE! The only thing I'm going to keep is my STEELERS sticker can't see me getting rid of tham even though I'min Patriots territory. Have a great summer

We were in the Littleton area. We were about 60 miles north of Weirs Beach... We were staying in some cabins off of RT 3 I think... That is were we seen the Moose. Right in the state forest I think it was WhiteMountain State forest... We are planing on going back up next year for a week. Maybe we can hook up. I would love to do some fishing!!!!!

Yep, you were in some beautiful country up in Littleton Just another 6 miles north up I-93 and you would have been at our VT camp. The Moore Reservoir is on the boarder and a good place togo fishing but not as nice as the lake. If I'm not mistake, I believe they just open the north area above the notch to turkey hunting within the year or two. Those turkeys you saw defiantly don't get a lot of hunting pressure If you do make it back just let me know! I've got a 16ft Grumman deep-V with trollinggear for trout and salmon and if they're not biting there's always the big pond with stripers in it, the ocean
