I am thinking about putting out my camera this weekend, and i was wondering when most people put out there camera's?
Would it be a good idea to put out some minerals and my camera even though it is early?

penniside I put 2 cams out on the 18th and wish I would have put all of them out. I would put both the deer cane and a generic block out.
The deer are hitting all my old mineral sites very hard as of the 18th and are already hitting the new blocks that I put out on the 18th aswell. Pike

penninside,
I too plan on puttting my cameras out this weekend. It's really never too early to try to get great photos. I use a product called lucky buck. It comes in a white bucket and looks like a fine red sand. I'm not sure about what all is in it, I know it has minerals, but the deer absolutely hammer it. They will dig a hole months after the product is gone to still try to eat it. I have used many other products for my cameras but this is by far the best thing I have seen. If you don't see it for sale where you live, just google the name and their website is there.

I keep mine out for the majority of the year, but it does come in for a month or two.
Its not too early for minerals though.A goodtime tomake new mineral sites or refresh old mineralones,is late winter.
The 1st picture belowis from March this year. It is anew mineral site (around 2 weeks old at the time of the picture)with a time release mineral block and a little buck jam on the stump. I'll put more buckjam on when the weather heats up so the sun can bake it onto the stump. I checked the site a few days ago and the mineral block is starting to soak into the ground nicely.Bucks/deer in generalwill hit it harderas springcontinues intosummer, especially does that are nursing fawns... but its definitely not too early. They started hitting this one regularly in late march/early april.

As others have said, welcome to the addiction. Have fun, post some pics when you get some.
