I've been lurking for awhile now..hello
For 2 weeks now I've had my Moultrie Gamespy out..moved once because I figured our trapping bone pile would be a better spot for it. Finally I got some pictures..71 to be exact (tiny memory card) of birds. I never thought there would be so many chickadees, blue jays and woodpeckers picking at the meat. There's a chance I may have missed some animals at the edge of the pile because I don't have a good tree to put the camera on. Does anybody have suggestions on other ways to hang the camera? I considered a post, but I don't think I'm strong enough to dig through the frozen ground of PA right now...I'm a girl by the way, not a just a weak guy. I was kinda excited to see 4 pictures on 2 different days of this guy though. I hope the picture isn't huge..I can't tell if it's enormous at the moment.

Nice Pic, i have a picture almost the exact same on my camera. To hang your camera, there is a type of tripod that is made for trail cameras but i am not sure on the website for it, im guessing cabela's might have it. Good luck

Welcome to the trail cam forum. You'll like it here. You can get a stand for those cameras, but the only thing I don't like about stands is it makes them stand out. Easy for someone else to notice. I haven't found really any tree that doesn't work. Try using broken twigs or limbs to shim out behind your camera. You can angle it any direction you need.

Welcome.. I just watch also (stolen cam). I just wanted to give you another option on setting your cam without a sufficiant tree.

Thanks for the advice, I actually do have a small branch shoved behind the camera to angle it down a bit, but the terrain makes a good spot difficult. Directly behind the camera is a small hill that foxes walk down to get to the bones...you can see the trails they continue on in the picture. I want the camera off to the side more so I can get a better area in the picture but the trees are saplings barely bigger than my thumb, or to far away to get decent pictures. The trees on the other side of the swampy area in the picture would be a good place, however, I think it may be slightly to far away from the bone pile. I'm also not to terribly worried about anyone stealing the camera..not many people go on my property, but if they did, I'm not sure they would be able to see the camera from where I have it. I need to make a cage for it just to be safe, as of right now all I have is my pistol lock on it to keep it from being opened...and I know that's not gonna do a whole lot of good since it can still be taken.
