I am looking for everyones opinion on (2)questions?
(1)Is this two different bucks?
(2)Does that appear to be a bullet hole or just a wound of some sort?
I fear the worst for the buck with a hole in his gut because this was his second and last time that this guy has showed up in front of my camera. What a shame if he is dead.

It looks like the second buck is much wider than the first!!!!! Also I don't think thats a bullet hole...Some sort of wound yes but not a bullet hole...IMO

Those are 2 different bucks. Look at the right G4, the second bucks is longer, and back further on the beam. I'm not sure what that hole is, but I doubt He'll die from it it looks like its healed over already.

2 different bucks...........plus the 1st pic was on 8/14/08 @ 09:20 and the 2nd pic was 8/14/08 09:38. If the deer was shot through the guts he would not be back at the mineral lick/food within an 18 minute period.......he would be bedded up somewhere hurting...

I'm not proud of it, but i made a poorly placed bow shot on a buck last seasonwith a grim reaper three blade mechanical broadhead.the arrow passed cleanly through too high and too far back
.several days later i saw that deer with a group of does, bearing tufts exactly like those in the pictures! he was no worse for wear and was moving and feeding normally!.he would occasionally lick at the wounds, but otherwise showed no discomfort.I chose not to harvest the buck,as he had cheated his demise once, he earned his survival.this experience taught me a valuable lesson about shooting form and shot placement.(when you stop learning you stop living!).i think my signature line says it all!!.
