if that is a bullet or broadhead hole it would have went right threw his gut, a fatal wound, but would have taken a day or maybe two to die. It looks like 2 different bucks, but kinda hard to tell. the spread on the second looks to be wider, however left sided tine lengths looks about the same, hard to tell

WIbuckchaser,

I have to agree with smokiya, if that had been the same deer, he would have not been back at the mineral lick in that amount of time. But I don't have any opinion on what that mark is.

Blessings.....Pastorjim

When you look at it on the TV it shows up a lot better. We did the best we could to bring it as close as we could without wrecking the photo quality, but it just doesn't look quite the same on the computer. When I zoom in with my card reader in front of the TV the wound just looks more serious. I am probably worried for nothing, but I still, till this day haven't gotten another picture of him.
Thanks everyone for your replies. It's fun reading everyones opinions.

Same Deer. Those antlers are EXACTLY the same length and shape. Look at slight bend in the left G3 and how the right brow is slightly longer. G4 on right is much longer than left.

No bullet hole. No oozing. Freshly licked or pawed.

Just my humble opinion.

ORIGINAL: smokiya

2 different bucks...........plus the 1st pic was on 8/14/08 @ 09:20 and the 2nd pic was 8/14/08 09:38. If the deer was shot through the guts he would not be back at the mineral lick/food within an 18 minute period.......he would be bedded up somewhere hurting...

same deer, and I doubt it's a bullet hole. Deer get all kinds of scars, but wounds to the guts usually don't heal up!

2 diff bucks 100% but the wound is hard to say what it's from.

2nd one is wider, no hole in his hide like the 1st one on his left side.

Same deer to me. What happened to leave that mark is beyond me though.
