Moultrie Gamespy D40 Questions
My moultrie d40 is disappointing me. It takes great pictures but the stupid screen says E:172 then P:0016/0000
I checked it on the tv and it only had 16 pictures.
I sorta figured out that I didn't have a SD card in it.
My questions are What does E mean and what does P mean?
Oh and is therea certain kind of SD card i should get?

I have 2 of the same camera and like them well enough. I have never seen the "E", but the "P" means pictures/photos...as in you've taken so many photos out of so many that your camera or card will hold.
For example, I put a 2 gig card in mine and when I fire it up it will say P: 0/2136...or something like that. The zero meaning that the card is empty and has no pictures on it, the 2136 meaning that is how many pictures the card will hold with the configuration that you have set up on the camera.
Hope that helps.

That helps alot, although mine said 16/0000 which im guessing is that internal memory.
You have the moultrie gamespy d40 that costs like $99 or so?
If you have those ones then you should have the E, the E is right under the P.

RE: Moultrie Gamespy D40 Questions
Mottz is correct. I also havea fewMoultie D40's and they seem to work great. You have to make sure the camera is close to the target though because the flash does not seem to be very strong. The E stands for events and you can reset that back to 0 in the settings. The reson your P says 16/0000 is because you have 16 pictures on the hard drive memory without a memory card in. Once you place a memory card in the slot, the 0000 will change to a number depending on the image quality and how many images your card will hold. I go to walmart and get the 1GB memory card for $12. That is plenty big enough to hold many pics. Good luck and share the pics when you get them.

This is the way I think it is. If I'm wrong (anyone?) let me know also. Say you have 32 events and your camera says 49/1516. You have 49 pictures, 1516 pics that can still be taken. I think the events means thats how many times your camera got into photo mode. Alot of times you get 2 pics (1 event) then 2 more pics (2nd event) and so on. Like I say ,I could be wrong on that so lets just see if someone else chimes in here. Maybe I'll learn also.
