This is where there seems to be some confusion. The way you typed this it looks like you believe because the ball from the 35" barrel is traveling at a faster velocity but has a slower twist it is rotating at the same rate as the faster twist barrel out of the 10" barrel with a lower velocity. That is simply not the case.
In actuality the number of twist (or rotations) the ball makes is determined by the twist rate of the rifling and the distance it has has to travel until impact. Velocity, like I said before, determines the amount of time it takes for the ball to get there but is also a factor in stabilizing the ball at a particular twist rate.
This is the reason I posted the FAQ from Dixie Gunworks. It basically says that you can shoot balls accurately (usually) from a fast twist barrel if you lower the charge/velocity. Hence the reason for a fast twist in a pistol.
I don't recall you saying that. Only that it's the way they make them so it must be correct.
I asked a simple question - got an answer from the original poster and came to the correct conclusion whitout your help only your criticizm.

Since you brought this to a PM. Go read mine and drop this crap.

Consider this the last question of yours i'll ever answer. That should make both of us happy.

Personally I don't see where it's worth arguing over. I learned something from this thread and I'm happy that old ideas I had concerning the subject have been corrected. Thank you bronko for that. I have a CVA Kentucky pistol that's a darn good round ball shooter and I never gave a hoot nor holler over what twist it has!

So let's save the arguments for the regular black powder forum, they're used it. 😆

I never planned to make another post after my first answer. I was just responding. If someone doesn't like my answer. Just ignore it. That's way better than telling me i'm wrong.

I too learned a couple things from this post. Sometimes the simpliest things get blown out of proportion. I know this after 42 years of marriage. It is especially true when two old foggies start butting heads. It came to light through PM that both of us were probably saying the same thing but neither one of us understood or couldn't see what the other was saying.
I realize now that the best way to deal with this is via PM and not tie up a thread.

No, I knew you weren't serious, and I was busy anyway.

Look at bronko. He still thinks I was wrong.
