It was a nice day here yesterday, so I took the target outside and shot my recurve a little.
I shot 3-5 shot groups and they were pretty good groups...but high. I couldn't seem to figure out what was bringing them up.
Trying anything, I took my glove off and shot 2 more groups of 5. These were all in or near the bull.
How could my glove affect my group? Was it a fluke? Should I switch to a tab? By the way, I shoot instinctive.
Thanks

could be just the difference in how you hold the string between bare fingers and a glove. That or an anchor point problem. Its much easier to feel your anchor point with bare skin then it is to feel through 1/8th inch think leather and a minute difference on the face can add up to a few inches on the target real quick!

Yeah, my guess would be that the glove thickness (or the absence thereof) would raise or lower your anchor finger minutely therefore raising or lowering your point of impact.
just a guess, though. Theory sounds viable, doesn't it? <img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>

Oh, by the way, Pro-Line. If you're shooting so well that a minute change in your anchor from bare to gloved finger actually makes a visual difference in your point of impact, then I don't like you very much!!!
Just kidding. Dang that must be some good shootin'. You ever write a book?

Heck PowDuck...I've only read a couple, so writing one is out of the question.
I'd like to think that 1/8" would make a difference. That would make me better than I thought!! LOL
Thanks guys...You're most likely right. I appreciate the help.

My bet would be that with the glove on you're applying too much pressure to the string with your third or ring finger and when you take the glove off you're not. I know that if I apply more than a minimal amount of pressure with that finger I get high left flyers. I've been told that you should apportion the string pressure, 30% on index finger, 60% on middle finger, 10% on ring finger. I could never get the 10% right, so now I shoot 40%-60% with the middle finger doing most of the work, and don't even touch the string with my ring finger.
