Bad luck continues ...

Because I absolutely had to have a verhicle to travel in, I kinda jumped the gun and bought a Sierra 2500 HD crew cab with a 8.1 L V8 engine, got a good deal i think ... then not 48 hours later on my way to Denver I hit a KS whitetail and smashed the front bumper [:@][:@][:@]

Awe well .... a small truck/car/van would have REALLY been beaten up - this hawg of a truck tool a damaged bumper is all

I'm better - still a sore neck, burns on my hands are pealing and a bit raw and mild headaches that caffeine helps cure but other than that OK

Dang SC, talk about a streak of luck, when it rains it pours I reckon! But hey, it could'a been worse, at least you're on the mend.

You better quit all that & hurry up & get better, hunting season is just around the corner!

arrowsmit - Not only that, about 10 weeks ago I pulled a groin muscle and my conditioning has went down since.

Good news ? I have a 3rd week of September with my 70 year old Dad and 62 year old Uncle thats going to be awesome (I got a muzzleloader tag). Then first week in Nov I have 2 KS whitetail tags for my Dad and I and an awesome place to hunt. Assuming I can stay healthy enough and have a vehicle to drive huh ?

I can't wait to get home and shoot my SAII. I really want to throw the 59# limbs on and see how smooth they are. I've never had a 58" recurve .... I like it so far though !

With a run of luck like you're having, I'm not sure if I'd recommend you messing around with gunpowder! You never know what might happen... A leftover lightening bolt from a stray stormcloud could zap your powderhorn and BLAM! We'd have to start calling you 'stealthygoo.'

Might oughta rethink that muzzleloading stuff until you can get out from under that little black cloud that's suspended over your head.

But then.... hmmmm.... String of bad luck begins after Black Widow arrives... hmmm.... [:-]

I thought of that too. Pretty bows, nice in the hand ... but aint worth all the trouble that comes with them ! Even the Widow "secret handshake" isn't what its cut out ot be

Damn SC, I think I'd go thru what you have to be bowhunting KANSAS! After the buck you killed there last year, do you have any doubts?

arrowsmit - I aint complaining too much. I drew a KS archery tag, and 1 of the two landowner buddys I know drew and for the first time since I've known these fine people they invited my Dad to go along ! Me and good 'ol Dad, hunting monster KS bucks the first week of November on private land ... does it really get any better than that ? Car wreck here, hit a deer there, groin pull linering ... hell man, I've got an elk hunt AND an awesome whitetail hunt planned with my 70 year old Dad - I'm defintitely keeping perspective here !

Throw in a like new SAII with 2 sets of limbs ? Cream .... all cream.

My goal for 2004 - to have a great time with Dad, fill my elk tag with a 300" bull and shoot a 140" or greater whitetail in KS and a legal Arkansas buck. Lofty goals .... should make it that much more fun !

Have to say I'm getting the bite for a new bow myself.. Have a major urge for a ChekMate Firebird.. I would really like one with a part phenolic riser.. I know Chad said that this was next to imposible to get.. sooooo maybe I am saved...lol.. However, I still plan to email Chad my dreambow wish..lol.

Good Shooting to all...and a new bow in everyone's upcoming Christmas stocking.

Wow, that'll be awesome hunting w/your Dad! Best luck to you both!

I was thinkin' SC, I know you've been an Adcock shooter for awhile & just got a BW while I've been a BW shooter & just got an Adcock...& we both love our new bows!

Isn't life grand!!?

arrowsmit - When that Adcock gets old and you want to go back to Widows .... email me. I DO like this Widow .... but I'd rather shoot a longbow.

58" SAII, like new condition (really, I mean 99% like new) with 55# and 59# limbs ..... its for trade right now for an Adcock of the right make/design/weight !!
