I've bought/sold/traded quite a fews bows over the past 3 years. Here's how I rank them, top 4 IMO. I base it on how I shoot the particular bow - meaning how accurate I am with it, how shock free, quiet and pointable the bow is - speed is not a top 3 quality IMO.

LONGBOWS
--------------------------

#1 - Adcock 3 piece TD old stlye
#2 - Adcock 1 piece ACS
#3 - Sley 1 piece
#4 - Horne Combo Hunter 3 piece

RECURVES
--------------------------

#1 - Hummingbird 3 piece
#2 - Brackenbury 3 piece
#3 - Robertson Vision 3 piece
#4 - Widow SAIII 3 piece

Of the longbows, the ACS is the real deal and I bet the 3 piece TD would be the best of the best. Until I get one, I'll put my old style #1 - it just fits me.

Of the recurves, that Robertson was simply awesome - but I didn't shoot it well. Why ? I think it requires a true recurve shooting style ... and I have more of a longbow shooting style. The Hummingbird aint like that for me - I shoot that bow very well and will buy another one someday (maybe today ) The Widow is #4 only because I don't like the weight of the risers on them. I have seen the PSA recurves and would like to shoot one for sure.

I'd like to shoot Acadian Woods, Morrison, Blacktail as well as a few other bows because I bet they'd find their way into my list as well - especially the Blacktails - wow, what gorgeous bows !

I have been hunting with a PSE Durango for the past two years, BUT I have been comverted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had Wayne Meek build me a custom longbow and have been hooked!

I have have unusually great success so far with 3D and I am looking forward to taking my first animal with the londbow.

well I would have to rank my widow PSA III as the best I have shot to date. The brackenbury comes in a really close second, just wish it had a slimmer grip.

Either my Dakota recurve by Rick Welch or my Trails End by Dale Dye is my favorite hunting bows.
Both are comfortable and easy to hit with.
