Amazing how projects I have been working on come up here on the site.
I have been working on some unique self nocks. (at least they are unique to me) I will not go into detail until I can get some pics up.

Dang it Darryl, get honking on those nocks now that you've teased us!
Dan, you're going to like making quivers and knives. I find that the more I make of what I use the more fun it is to use it.
Quivers are great, they don't take a whole lot of special tools and there is a whole lot of room for your own interpretation of what a quiver should look like and how it should function.
On knives I've only basically assembled kit knives, fitting and finishing the handles. That isn't anywhere near to actually "making" a knife in the classic sense but I just don't have the resources for that. But I sure hope to cobble together those resources!

I think that is what he asked me to do, the handles not the blades. Heck at 15 bucks a pop I know of some great or hopefully functionable Xmas presents going out this year ! Btw, got a few strips started and my "feature strip ripped"....I tell ya, another pair of hands would be nice!!!

Ok here's a pic.
The shiny stuff on the side of the nock is from a muscle shell that lives only in the Concho River around San Angelo Texas. The muscle makes a pearl too. The Concho pearl.

Sorry the picture is not very clear, and does not do justice to the beauty of the shell.

Here is a nock that is walnut with a strip of ivory (tauga nut) accent.

The other end of the arrow is footed (4 points)with the same walnut. This arrow is a cull from a batch I made for a friend.

Good looking stuff DScott! I have plans, lots of ivory in these parts ! I figured I would need to learn a ton more then what I know now to pull it off though!

Lilhunter,
Lots of ivory you say.
Maybe I could get you to sell me a little bit sometime. I think a all ivory nock would look great.

Darryl, it wouldn't be the real thing but would sure look like it, at a fraction of the cost. You could try ivory micarta. It is easy to work with, cheap, and available from lots of sources.
