RE: A Gripping Survey
Split finger with LB and Recurve; middle finger to corner of mouth. I shoot more consistent with a shallow fingertip grip.

Been lookin' at 3 foot long stabilizers too! Just kidding. My bravado won't let me go any farther towards "The Dark Side". Dick

RE: A Gripping Survey
Here are the results:
17 Total Respondents 13 split finger 4 three under 10 of the 13 split fingers shoot longbows 3 of the 13 split fingers shoot recurves 2 of the 13 split fingers shoot both 4 of the 4 three under shoot recurves 1 of the 4 three under shoots both I guess this indicates that longbow shooters tend to prefer split fingers; probably a result of IBO rules mandating it in traditional class. Recurve shooters tend to prefer 3 under; probably because they can use it in IBO and it provides a higher anchor. Jack Edited by - floxter on 02/12/2002 08:48:31 |
RE: A Gripping Survey
As I appear to be the only 3 fingers under person that shoots both a recurve and a long bow--does that mean I am in a class by myself,or just odd? Cam <img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>

RE: A Gripping Survey
Target rules got nothing to do with my shooting split fingered. You can thank Chuck Adams for that one. It was his how to book that got me interested in shooting and I shot the compound how he suggested, split fingered with a tab. Just stayed with what I knew when shooting the recurve and now the longbow.:)
