Default Going to try Trad

I've been a compound shooter for the last 7 years and have decided to try traditional. Maybe one of you guys can lead me to my first bow. I'm looking for a 60" TD Recurve #45 @ 28" that is in good shape and reasonably priced. I shot a friends #55 Martin Hatfield and it was too much for me (I only shoot #58 with my wheel bow). Thanks in advance for any help.

I must definitely say that you have the right idea for a starting bow. My only recommendations would be to go and look at and hold, draw, and shoot as many bows as you can possibly get your hands on to get a feel for what you need to look for. And then scour Ebay for the best bow that fits your desires in the money you want to spend. You can definitely find some of the best deals on Ebay but don't overlook the occasional pawn shop and even pro shop for used bows. Hope you find what you are looking for and welcome to a great sport.

Ebay, lots of bows...

Ogle county? Close to Dixon? Sauk Valley Archers are having an indoor 3-D on Jan. 17th. Some of the members or visiting archers may be using trad bows. Good way to get aquainted with those that shoot 'em... maybe an opportunity to shoot a few different bows.

'Reasonable' price.... depending on your spending limit, usually TD's are difficult to find for much less that $200. One-piece used 'curves can be had for $50-$150. There are some quality, new one-piecers out there for around $200.
