No it' s not. There is a back country travel restriction on in the sothern part of the province which basically means you can' t leave the main road or go wandering around in the bush- unless you' re hunting on private property. Hunting season hasn' t been cancelled, you just can' t go into some areas. Here' s a link to the closure area

" Provincial situation
As of Sept. 7, there were over 713 forest fires burning across British Columbia and 243,677 hectares burned. The province is under an extended state of emergency, declared on August 2 and renewed on August 14 and again on August 29. "
(a hectare is about 2 1/2 acres)
