Default Arrow Building tips

Okay just ordered all the stuff the make my first set of POC arrows and was wondering if anyone has some good tips and or tricks to watch for. I am not going to crest or crown dip just yet figured I would just taper, stain and seal, fletch, point and shoot - Any pointers?

Thanks to this great group and all your support

You can put enamel on top of laquer, but not laquer on top of enamel. What does this mean ? If you' re using Gasket Laquer, watch what you use to crest your arrows with. I normally dip 3-5 times in GL then crest, then seal the cresting with waterbased polyacrylic. Doing it wrong will result in smeared cresting lines. Use good quality brushes. Thin your paint a bit, it helps. Use a good cresting machine. Expect a learning curve and have fun -

omething to protect the cresting - ie using a water based polyacrylic. I do not know or remember if laquer goes over acrylic well or not.
