Default New Shop Additions

Picked up some more gear for the shop.
First a 4" jointer to help square things up

Plus a second hand drum sander it is larger than what I need 16/32" but for the money I could not pass it up and no way can I afford a new one just yet

It does a really good job here are the first set of lams through it.

I had a sled made up with a .001 per running inch taper

I’m jealous. I’m in need of a new drum sander. Well, actually I think I’m going to get a new motor for the lam gig I made. It would be much cheaper. That is, once I quit playing with the self bows. I know I keep saying Im going to get back into the plywood bow buisness. It would save me a butt load of time. I just like the elegance of a board, or self bow. Besides, I’ve got some snake skins waiting for some snaky Osage bows next spring.

I think these will go well with a riser made out of the Bolivian Rosewood

I will order the glass and Action Boo next week[8D]

But can't make a start on another bow till I get the new belt/spindlesander[:@]

Guess I gotta start buying some stuff I want to start attempting to make some bows.

Now thats some perty curly maple. lol. The last lam bow I made with that very wood came out great. The glass showed off the curly pattern real well. I have to admit, when i riped those, I was at the end of that stock. It was not quite as curly as the first 20 lams.

The next thing I am going to get is a new sander the ones I had, the guy who owned them needed them back

I looking real hard at the Rigid belt/spindle sander combo that Home Depot have. Been checking out Ebay as well but dang those guys want new price for used equipment then when you add the shipping it's cheaper to buy new locally[:@]

Kent.

Untill you get your lam machine up and runnin send them to me and I will grind them down for ya

What size motor do you need I can get motors fairly cheap If I dont have one laying around. As long as its 825-1100 rpm range. 1/4hp to3/4 hp real easy
