New Shop Additions

Picked up some more gear for the shop.
First a 4" jointer to help square things up;)

Plus a second hand drum sander it is larger than what I need 16/32" but for the money I could not pass it up and no way can I afford a new one just yet:)

It does a really good job here are the first set of lams through it.

I had a sled made up with a .001 per running inch taper;)

I’m jealous. I’m in need of a new drum sander. Well, actually I think I’m going to get a new motor for the lam gig I made. It would be much cheaper. That is, once I quit playing with the self bows. I know I keep saying Im going to get back into the plywood bow buisness. It would save me a butt load of time. I just like the elegance of a board, or self bow. Besides, I’ve got some snake skins waiting for some snaky Osage bows next spring.

Now thats some perty curly maple. lol. The last lam bow I made with that very wood came out great. The glass showed off the curly pattern real well. I have to admit, when i riped those, I was at the end of that stock. It was not quite as curly as the first 20 lams. ;)

What size motor do you need I can get motors fairly cheap If I dont have one laying around. As long as its 825-1100 rpm range. 1/4hp to3/4 hp real easy
