It seemed I remembered my father in law talking about a man he knew aboutan houraway that was into trad bows, so I called him (FIL) this morning and asked him about it. Seems my father in law has been renting land from this guy for about 25 years or so, knows him pretty well. Father in law calls the guy up, turns out the guy builds his own bows, and is even going to be teaching a class in building bows to the Comanches over at Lawton here before too long. Anyways,to make a long story short, the guy tells my father in law if I want to learn how to build a bow he will teach me this fall when it cools off some. Says a couple of Saturdays shouldget most of the work done.
Now my father in law knows nothing about bows, so I have no idea if this guy is talking longbows or what, but I figure as long as he is willing to teach I'll take whatever. Thought it was pretty cool though, I guess I'll just haveto see what comes out of it.

That sounds cool. What part of the panhandle are you from? I grew up in the Panhandle, Lubbock to be exact. Who is this bowyer in Lawton. Im not far from Lawton. I was actually in Witcita Falls this afternoon with the kids at the water park.
Oh yea. If this guy is teaching a beginners corse, it will be basic longbows.
