Default Why? Arrows and Recurve

Why do my way over spined arrows shoot well out of my recurve? I tried the 2315 it was using with my selfbow with my 45# recurve and they seem to shoot well. It tried the 2016s I just bought for the selfbow and tried them in the recurve and they looked like wet noodles. Is it because my recurve's shelf is center cut so the arrow doesn't need to move through the paradox as drastically? Sorry for the seemingly dumb question, I'm fairly new and just trying to understand it all. Thanks!

EXACTLY!

You also have to consider what string material is used. B50-fast flight etc.
