I don't plan to drill any holes in the new recurve, and was looking for quiver suggestions. I don't want to harm the finish on the bow. I normally take the quiver off my bow when I get in the deer stand. If the quiver is left on the recurve will it have the same torque effect as it had with the compound?

I've got a Thunderhorn Boa quiver. It's easy on-easy off. But I didn't like the additional weight and balance of my longbow with the quiver on. For this reason, I went to a Selway hip quiver.

as far as torque, YES. some shooters learn to live with it, i think it dulls your broadhead everytime you shoot it with the quiver on, i prefer no quiver on my bow. i have used a black widow quiver, thunderhorn boa, quickee quiver, hill style back quiver, great northern strap on, chuck adams style side/hip quiver, st. charles backquiver of my own making and my catquiver. Of all of these if I was going to use a quiver that I would strap to my bow that was easiest on and off the Great Northern. My preference now is my catquiver, it carries all my necessities and protects my arrows, does not weight my bow down. you will hear people question how hard is it to get an arrow back in while it is on your back? well if you are hunting isn't it more important HOW you get an arrow out? with a little summer practice getting an arrow in is no prob. mine is a CQII i believe it has a center comp and two small sides, i would not get one bigger than this unless you pack hunt i.e. long trips from truck, as i do not, i mostly still hunt or treestand hunt.

here is one for ya. Its cheap and easy. I used a great northern but have seen a couple others use regular hooded quivers. Make it into a side quiver. How? Tie a piece of rope to it and sling it over your shoulder. Its small, light weight, out of the way, and easy to hang in the tree! I tried to hang my Chief Side Stalker....didnt realize my first hunt with it was going to be hanging out of a tree as it wasnt made for that imo. It did work though and I did manage to shoot 2 deer with it, one from the ground, one from the tree but I wouldnt go that route. Also a hip quiver with a quick detach is a great quiver for folks who like to do as you do. Wear it in, its simple to get on and off. Take that quick detach strap (I like the idea of using my raft straps more then the buckle types), run that strap around the tree and through the belt look, have it mounted to keep the nock end away from you. just some ideas....
