Aussie, that is exactly what I asked myself. And to think my dad purchased it just to use for bowfishing for shark and stingray. Heck I know it had been just thrown into the bottom of a boat a few times. Actually I wish I could thank the guy who painted it because that is probably what saved it from lots of scratches.

That is a great find. I have a friend that has an old Browning nomad he uses. It is painted black and camo. Could we get it off the same way

OHdeerguts, If it is regular spray paint you should be able to get it off with just regular 91% alcohol (Isopropyl) available at wal-mart(Make sure you get a big bottle). The way I understand it is that the clear finish that is underneath is some increadibly tough stuff, But I still reccommend trying it on a small spot on the bow before you go diving into the whole thing.
