I have taken several elk with the bow but only one with the rifle. I brought out the 7 mag for that season with 160 nosler parts. The ol gal broke both shoulders at 250 yards and still exited so i was very impressed. Lots of elk hunting up this way and most are using 300's, 7's, 338's

Current elk rifle is 300 win mag. Butmy 270 win has taken more and both have preformed well. Take a pick won't bother me. But the bow has taken the last three bulls. And don't forget the ole smoke pole on the list. How about listing my 41 mag is has taken two bulls. Lol puny little gun for such a big animal. Glad to see ya still around the site.

EKM, Guess you will have to add me to the stick flippers, since a 2314 XX75 doesn't qualify as a caliber. I never could see the use in being a bullet chucker.
