I have taken several elk with the bow but only one with the rifle. I brought out the 7 mag for that season with 160 nosler parts. The ol gal broke both shoulders at 250 yards and still exited so i was very impressed. Lots of elk hunting up this way and most are using 300's, 7's, 338's
