Mathews sent me a catalog and a list of sugg. retail prices the other day, i fell in love with the q2 and sq2 but almost threw up when i saw the prices, i really dont wanna pay almost 700 bucks for a bare bow i then saw the ultra 2 for 629 more my style and could probably get it cheaper at the shop, i was wondering what mathews you all like and what are the pros and cons of each one,
i checked out the fx but wasnt real crazy about it,
"She said if I hit that fishin hole today, she's be packin all her things and she'd, be gone by noon....I'm gonna miss her, when I get home."

Hey hoythunter48,around here in Virginia, all Mathews except the Icon and Legacy are about 550.00 and you can usually shave about 25.00 off that if you shop around and one guy that is the cheapest will order what you want. The Icon and Legacy run about 600.00 here.

Question...with a name like Hoythunter, is there any question of what bow to buy?
I didn't even know Mathews was still making bows!!
Seriously though, shop around before you buy. I think my shop sells the Q2 and SQ2 for about 500.
In my opinion, after shooting a Legacy, and the others, its one to buy. Yeah, its a little salty compared to others, but its a shooter. Of course after you shoot it and are satisfied, you can then GET SERIOUS and buy a HOYT.

The SQ2 is a short bow that is very manueverable in stands. The thing I like best about it, is it's 8.5" brace height. Great for not hitting clothing while hunting in cold weather. If you're more into 3D than hunting, then the Q2 or Q2xl would be good choices for more forgiveness.

I think the MQ1 is hard to beat. Throw some cat whiskers, limb savers, and a good rest on it, and it will shoot and sound with the best out there. For the difference in price you can buy a lot of rubber and goodies. And it is a shooter.<img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>
