maybe a hair faster, but nothing worth mentioning actually. My old bows are for example, Hoyt Xtec, Hoyt Vipertec, Hoyt Cybertec.

My OG seems to like my heavy hunting arrows. #70-30" 540 gr Max 4 Beman 269 fps, 356 GT ultralite 318. According to Software for archers my ke for my hunting arrow is 86 ft lbs and 83 ft lbs @ 40 yds, I only lose 6-7 fps @ 40 yds, I think thats pretty good. sjb3

The other night while at a local shop I decided to zip a couple arrows out of my Allegiance through the chrono. I was absolutely dumb founded to see speeds of 272 and 274 out of this thing. All numbers I ran showed me in the ball park of 285 - 290 out of this setup. My buddy PAHardwoods Old Glory was getting low 290's from the same chrono, which he and I figured would be right around his speed.

Where did I lose so much speed at?
So 13-16 FPS means the difference between getting a deer and not getting one ?

Kevin1,
I don't believe a mentioned anywhere in my post that I am concerned about not getting a deer because of speed or lack thereof. I've killed plenty of animals with setups shooting well under what I'm currently getting. I was simply curious as to what I should be getting compared to others with similar setups. Is this not the place to ask these questions and get discussions going? If not, please direct me to where I'm supposed to go.

Yes, I wouldn't mind gaining some speed for 3D season. Helps with the yardage estimation thing. Is it a necessity? Nope, accuracy is.

Muzzy have you checked your AtoA, brace height and tiller measurements to make sure everything is in proper position? Also to make sure your cam markings are in the correct position.

If you have any doubts you need to really look everything over very well. Confidence in your setup and equipment is the most important part of good shooting.

buckeye, I checked it all bud. It came in on the nail to spec actually and i have about 200 shots through it and its still dead on. Great strings they are putting on this year.

I put a full turn in each limb to get my weight up and I'm very surprised by how easy it still pulls. I may just crank it to 70 and forget about it.

I'm honestly not overly concerned. I just wanted some thoughts to it. Its a tack driver and shoots very well for me so far. Thats the most important thing.

I wasn't ragging on you Muz ,
and yes this is the correct place to ask .

My question was actually probably closer to "Why does it bother you so much?". Similar set ups can vary , and no two bows shoot alike even when set up identically . It just seemed to me that a difference that small would be within normal parameters .

I know a guy who holds a world record in the benchpress. You know what he eats. Spagettios. Has to have them.
