Default New Bow String Question

I just had my bow string replaced on my Hoyt bow. I was trying to shoot it some last night to see how bad it was off. When I draw the bow back now, I can't see thru my peep sight. The strings around the peep are in the way. Do you know what I can do to correct this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Someone out there has to know what the problem is. I am thinking that the peep might be to high or to low.

Any help????

Default RE: New Bow String Question

First you need to shoot enough to settle in your new string. This might take a couple of hundred shots or more. However, I just put on a new string made of 450 plus and it settled in with about 20 shots. Absolutely no rotation since. Another new string made from 8125 took at least 150 shots. I quit counting long before it settled in.

Then come to full draw. Be sure to have an arrow nocked and pointing in a safe direction.

If the peep looks to the left side, bring ONE strand of the string
on the FRONT side from left to the right and one strand on the Backside from right to the left.

If the peep looks to the right, do the reverse.

You don’t need a bow press for that little operation. You can get one of the little string separator tools. However you have to be very careful not to damage strands in your string. A press is much better.

One tip: Watch your fingers and fingernails!

Hope this helps,
Allen
