My Dually didn't come with silencers on the cables either, I served some cat whiskers on the cables and it really made it alot quieter.

Sorry,, I didn't read"cable dampners" and thought cable rod dampners My'04 Pat DC didn't have the silencers on the cables either. I do have cat whiskers on my '03 Pat DC's cables and string also and the whiskers on the cables do make a good bit of difference.

Would Simms string leeches work as cable dampners? Ive got some of those in the tackle box. I could try em I guess. Should be less stress on the cables than on the string I would think. MAybe they would last awhile?

I'm sure they will work on the cables too and might last longer than on the string.
