Default How to choose grn. weight?

Hi all,
I have been bow hunting for three years and have always shot aluminums with 125gr. heads. Last season I switched to Carbon and continued using my 125gr. heads. I tuned the bow and it shot great and I was able to take a doe. However, over the off season I was wondering if my setup was wrong. Now, my bow shoots great, the arrows group very well, and I was able to take doe with a passthrough. I guess I just cant get it out of my mind that I should possibly be using 100gr. heads on carbon. Can anyone help me out here. I am just a little confused.

Thanks,
Bassn

Only reasons to do so would be if:

1- You're FOC is too high and you are not getting acceptable flight.
2- A particular head you are wanting to use is only offered in 100 grains and using it will not adversly affect arrow flight via FOC issues.
3- You want to pick up 3-6 more FPS (depending on the bow and how it's set up).

Sounds like you're good to go...

This site handles the FOC/tip weight topic pretty well:

Reason to change tip weight = for spine issues . If you are shoot'n tight groups , rely on that old addage thats says " if it aint broke , dont fix it " . Especialy at this time of year , with season in or around the corner .
