How much glue or better yet how do you know how much glue to put on when refletching with vanes? If I get too much it runs out and makes a mess, and of course, if I don't get enough it doesn't hold.
Thanks for advice

I use superglue gel. It has the same main ingredient as the archery instant glues. Works great on vanes and doesn't come off until I want it to. Plus I can get it anywhere! -wally word, grocery store, auto parts etc.
As far as how much, just enough to lay a bead.
Then after it's been in the jig a short time (30-60 seconds) I remove the arrow and wipe away the excess. Works great and cheap too.

I use aae fast set gel. It takes 8-10 seconds to set up. I put on a bead about 1/4 or 1/3 the width of the vane base. Even though it sets up quick the excess is still in a gel form and can be wiped away. Practice will show how much to use.
