Default Shooting from a treestand

I was wondering if there is a set rule for shooting from a treestand? Shoot low right? How low. I will be practicing from a tree as much as I can before the season but I was just wondering if there is any helpful input that you guys have.

i think most people will agree you should aim for the exit hole and use proper form. bend at your waist...

also remember its the horizontal distance to your target, not the hypotenuse of the triangle, i.e. your sight line, that is the correct distance to 'pin' on. in other words if it is 20 yds from the base of the tree to the target, and your tree is relatively straight, then use your 20 yd pin even though you may be 23 yds from the target when you are up in your tree.

Best advice is to just practice regularly. And if you can practice on a 3D target that's even better. Reposition the 3D target to simulate various positons. When you climb down to retreive the arrows you will get an good indication of where the arrow would have exited and/or what vitals you would have hit.

Thanks guys. I've been hearing a lot of crazy techniques. This stuff makes more sense, I have good form while in my stand and aiming for the exit hole is easy enough. I'll be precticing. Thanks again.

just practice. I asked the same question to my archery pro shop and they said the same thing practice, practice, practice. The more you shoot from the stand the more comfortable you will get until it's second nature.

Be sure you practise from a sitting position and straight on at that.Tough shot, specially if your draw might be a bit long.
